In 2 Kings 4, a woman the Bible only calls "great" prepared a room for the prophet Elisha with four things: "a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick" (2 Kings 4:10). Not an elaborate house. Not a full pantry. Exactly what was sufficient. God blessed her because of her faithfulness — Elisha spoke the promise, but it was God who gave her the son. Decision fatigue in your Christian business: when you're just tired of choosing

What Baruch's exhaustion actually teaches about decision fatigue
Baruch was Jeremiah's faithful scribe — not the prophet, the one doing the costly, thankless work of writing and delivering a message nobody wanted to hear. If the benefits fall short, write it down, pray over it, and let that be your answer — whether that means more research or a different option. If it's sound and decision fatigue is simply what's kept you from committing, commit, and stop shopping for a better version of what you already have.

You built the funnel, prayed over it, hit publish — and almost nothing happened. What Solomon's wisdom actually looked like
Solomon asked God for "an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad" (1 Kings 3:9). That wasn't failure — it filtered out the people who only wanted free resources and were never going to invest, so both sides ended up where they actually belonged.
The warning
Solomon's story doesn't end with permanent wisdom. Later in his reign (1 Kings 11), he made decisions that pulled his heart away from God. Wisdom itself didn't make him immune to compromise. You can know better and still choose the system that looks faster.

Look at your funnel — not to redesign it yet, just to ask better questions. Am I attracting the right people, not the most people? Does this offer solve a problem they're ready to pay to solve? When one harsh voice makes you question your calling
If you're searching "what does God say about doubting yourself" or "how do I handle criticism as a Christian in business" — this episode is for you. One kind email and one harsh email can flag the same real problem in your business, and still land completely differently inside you. When you're still building, one harsh voice can shake you down from the wall before you notice. You don't need thicker skin. You need a filter.
What Nehemiah did on the wall
In Nehemiah 6, Sanballat and Tobiah sent him repeated hostile messages designed to pull him off the wall of Jerusalem. He weighed what they said, prayed about the real threats, and refused the noise: "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?" (Nehemiah 6:3). He didn't ignore criticism. He didn't harden his heart. He just refused to come down from the work God gave him over tone dressed up as truth.
The story: two emails, same signal, different tones
My automation broke, and two women wrote in about it. The first was warm and gracious — clear problem, real feedback, prayer at the end. The second flagged the same category of issue, but wrapped it in judgment: a lesson she wanted to teach me, an assumption about everyone else on the list, a superior tone. Both emails carried real signal. Only one deserved the same weight in the response. I fixed the technical problem. I released the tone. I did not come down from the wall.
The Filter (Part 1): is it true?
Not all criticism is noise, and not all criticism is truth. The first question of The Filter is simply, is it true? Which means: what's the real signal here — the actual thing that needs fixing? And what's just tone — the part that feels bad but doesn't tell me anything about the work? Take the signal. Release the tone. Fix what's real. Don't let one harsh voice convince you the whole thing is broken, or that God didn't really call you to build it.
